Some more excellent planning in Sydney’s fringe suburbs: At Glenmore Park, a 90’s spaghetti planning exemplar, the roads were built to narrow to carry public transport. This is ridiculous.

Consider the American suburban alternative: streets that are outrageously wide. Often, fire officials require even the shortest cul-de-sacs to accommodate the turning radius of their largest fire engines. So a 13m road that serves 6 or 7 houses that have private driveways is the rule, rather than the exception.
