The newly announced Assassin's Creed appears to be set in a faithfully recreated fifteenth century Venice. It is hard to believe that Venice has not yet been used in this type of open world game — it is the perfect city for this type of open world game: three dimensional, tight intricate maps, lots of opportunities for jumping around the place. GTA might not translate so well though...
