In 1963 the New York City Parks Commissioner and Arterial Co-ordinator, Robert Moses, proposed a series of raised expressways through that city. Here are those expressways drawn in the style of google maps; a style which, given our growing dependance on these particular maps as a service, lends the drawings an immediate authority.
