Paul Pholeros has been awarded the inaugural UIA Vassilis Sgoutas Prize which is awarded to architects “contributing in an efficient manner to the struggle against the misery of those living below the poverty line.”
Pholeros worked in Utzon’s office in Sydney on the Opera House, and has spent much of his career following that time working in indigenous communities to improve housing conditions.
